Roasted Whiskey Caramel Apples

This is our second of a four different recipes we made using our Breeo smokeless fire-pit. We headed up to Mount Shasta, just an hour drive north of Redding California with some friends to enjoy the snow but we wanted to make something to keep us warm. The girls loved sipping their hot drinks and warming their hands and feet by the fire. We typically have fairly warm weather where we live so it was fun to bring this fire-pit into another setting and come up with this warming winter treat. 



5 apples cored & halved

1 stick of butter

1 cup of brown sugar

1/4 cup whiskey

heavy whipping cream to taste

3-4 cinnamon sticks


Place the butter and the sugar in the pot, allow it to melt fully and combine. Add apples, cinnamon sticks, and whiskey. Cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes. The apples are done when they are soft to the prick and the sauce at the bottom is a caramel consistency. Serve with a drizzle of fresh whipped cream.
